Yip Pin Xiu started swimming when she was five as a weekly family activity. At the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, she produced Singapore’s first Paralympic gold medal. She continues to be a force to be reckoned with, winning two gold medals and setting the world records in the Women’s 50m and 100m Backstroke S2 events at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
